About This Event

The 17th World Congress on Endometriosis brings the global endometriosis community to the Hilton Istanbul Bomonti Hotel & Conference Center in Türkiye. Hosted by the World Endometriosis Society, WCE 2027 is co-presided over by Professor Engin Oral of Acibadem University and Professor Ertan Saridogan of University College London Hospital. It gathers clinicians, surgeons, researchers, nurses, physiotherapists, and patient advocates to advance understanding of the disease's causes, consequences, and treatment.

What distinguishes this congress is its four-pillar structure. The programme is built around clinical and surgical expertise, basic science, social science, and patient engagement so that laboratory research, operating-theatre practice, and lived patient experience are treated as parts of the same conversation rather than separate tracks. Free paper and poster presentations run throughout, and the 24 top-scoring poster abstracts are given digital presentation slots with a short oral component.

The 2027 edition opens with a full day of optional pre-congress workshops. Led by internationally recognised experts, these cover pain, complementary therapies, physiotherapy, essential and advanced surgery, essential and advanced imaging, molecular and genetic mechanisms, medical treatment, infertility, urogynaecology, nursing, and a dedicated workshop for early and mid-career researchers.

Keynote presentations include Dr Katie Burns on neutrophils as a non-invasive diagnostic tool, Professor Davor Jurkovic on advanced ultrasound, Professor Mario Malzoni on surgical strategy for bowel endometriosis, Dr Rebecca O'Hara on self-management, and Dr Frank Tu on nociplastic pain. With invited seminars spanning adenomyosis, fertility outcomes, guidelines and classification, and non-surgical treatment, WCE 2027 sets the global agenda for endometriosis care.
