Fertility 2027 Conference: The 20th Annual Fertility Conference in Belfast

Fertility 2027 is the 20th Annual Fertility Conference, held at ICC Belfast in the heart of Northern Ireland's capital. It is jointly hosted by five UK societies: the Association of Reproductive and Clinical Scientists, the British Fertility Society, the Society for Reproduction and Fertility, the British Infertility Counselling Association, and the Senior Infertility Nurses Group. That partnership makes it the UK's principal gathering for clinicians, embryologists, scientists, nurses, and counsellors working across fertility research, treatment, and care.

The 2027 programme has been rebuilt around delegate feedback, with shorter, more focused sessions and a deliberately interactive structure. Alongside plenaries and parallel update sessions, the format includes short paper sessions, rapid-fire presentations, poster walks through a dedicated Poster Village, and an exhibition hall. Four abstract presentation formats are available, from full oral talks to mini-posters, giving researchers at every stage a route to share their work.

This edition runs as a 2.5-day core programme, opening with an SRF Satellite Day and closing with two set-piece events. The Big Debate asks whether social egg freezing should be promoted as a public health strategy, and an Awards Brunch is hosted by programme chair Sarah Martins Da Silva. The Anne McLaren Lecture and the Bob Edwards Memorial Lecture anchor the first two days.

Sessions span egg activation and ICSI, endometrial receptivity and implantation, IVF add-ons, testicular tissue transplantation, microfluidic sperm selection, the 2026 NICE fertility guideline, safeguarding in practice, staff burnout, and inequalities in access to assisted reproduction. Together they make Fertility 2027 a broad, practice-focused forum for the UK fertility community.
