About This Event

ASPIRE 2027 is the 16th Congress of the Asia Pacific Initiative on Reproduction, held at PACIFICO Yokohama in Japan. Under the theme "Zen and Innovation: Harmony in Reproductive Medicine," the congress reflects the balance between time-honoured principles and cutting-edge advances in reproductive science. It follows an ASPIRE congress in Beijing that drew delegates from more than 60 countries and brings together clinicians, embryologists, scientists, nurses, and counsellors from across the Asia-Pacific and beyond.

The scientific programme is built for range and participation rather than lectures alone. Alongside eight keynote speakers, the format includes clinical and scientific case discussions, debates, and "how to" sessions led by regional and international experts. Free communications carry a number of prizes, rapid-fire sessions showcase the best posters, and the organisers are trialling an evening poster session for this edition.

The defining moment of ASPIRE 2027 is a guest appearance marking close to five decades of IVF. Louise Brown, the world's first IVF baby, joins the congress as the field approaches the 50th anniversary of assisted reproduction. This gives delegates a rare chance to hear her account of the breakthrough that has since helped millions of families.

Sessions cover artificial intelligence, recent advances in male infertility, innovations in the IVF laboratory, integrating psychosocial care into practice, and stem cells, with Special Interest Groups extending the programme into emerging areas. Faculty includes Hugh Taylor of Yale, Joyce Harper of UCL, Katsuhiko Hayashi of Osaka University, and Nick Macklon, making ASPIRE 2027 a leading forum for reproductive medicine in the region.
