Overture Life Brings the World's First Automated ICSI into Clinical Use Across Five Leading Global Fertility Centers

Overture Life has launched the world's First Automated ICSI into Clinical Use, deploying its ICSI.A automated intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) workstation across five leading fertility centres in Peru, Turkey, Bolivia, South Korea, and Argentina. The initiative marks the first live clinical implementation of an automated ICSI platform, aiming to standardise one of the most technically demanding procedures in in-vitro fertilisation (IVF).

The inaugural ICSI.A Center of Excellence Program includes CERAS (Peru), Memorial Hospital (Turkey), CENALFES (Bolivia), Seoul IVF (South Korea), and Procrearte (Argentina). According to Overture Life, these centres will serve as reference sites for the adoption of automated IVF technologies and generate real-world clinical data on robotic-assisted embryology.

ICSI is a highly specialised IVF procedure in which a single sperm is manually injected into an egg under a microscope. Traditionally, the success of the procedure has depended on the expertise and consistency of embryologists, with outcomes varying based on operator experience and manual precision.

The company's ICSI.A platform integrates robotics and computer vision to automate the injection process, reducing manual variability while maintaining embryologist oversight. Overture Life said the system is designed to support laboratory teams by improving consistency, minimising human error, and allowing embryologists to focus on clinical decision-making and patient care.

Hans Gangeskar, CEO of Overture Life, described the deployment as a significant milestone for reproductive medicine, stating that the technology enables the most critical step of IVF to become more reproducible and less dependent on individual manual technique.

The participating fertility centres each bring established expertise in assisted reproduction. CERAS will lead implementation in Latin America, while Memorial Hospital strengthens the program's presence in Turkey and the broader international fertility market.

CENALFES, which introduced micromanipulation technologies in Latin America in the 1990s, is once again adopting a pioneering role with the First Automated ICSI into Clinical Use. Seoul IVF will evaluate the platform's clinical performance through data-driven practice, and Procrearte aims to use automation to improve consistency and efficiency across its high-volume IVF operations.

The company noted that ICSI.A remains the only platform currently capable of automating the ICSI procedure at clinical scale. In Turkey, where one of the first deployments has begun, there are currently no regulations specifically governing automated or AI-assisted ICSI systems. Instead, such technologies fall under the broader regulatory framework for assisted reproductive technologies and IVF laboratory practices.

As the program expands, Overture Life expects participating centres to contribute operational and clinical evidence that will help establish best practices for automated embryology. The company plans to extend the Center of Excellence Program to additional fertility networks globally, supporting wider adoption of the First Automated ICSI into Clinical Use and advancing the transition toward more standardised, technology-driven IVF laboratories.

Overture Life also announced that it opened a limited reservation and waitlist for additional clinics during the ESHRE 2026 Congress in London, giving priority to leading fertility centres seeking to become regional reference sites for automated IVF technologies.
